Intake Coordinator
Matt loves helping people. And for the past year, he’s been helping our patients begin their care at Mount Evans. “It’s my job to make sure the patient is seen by one of our clinicians within 48 hours depending on their care needs. The best moments are when a patient says ‘thank you for taking care of us so quickly.’ I know that I’ve done my best to get someone the help they need, and I go home happy.”
Q: Why did you want to work at Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice?
A: I wanted to be able to help people in need.
Q: What do you find rewarding about your work?
A: Helping people every day.
Q: What does it mean to you to serve our mountain residents?
A: It means a lot. Every day, I get to get off work and go home happy knowing I did my best to get someone the help they need on their way to recovery.
Q: Do you feel like you make a difference in the lives of patients?
A. Absolutely! With all of us living in such strange times, I like to think patients are very grateful we are able to come in to the comfort of their own homes and give them the help they need. They do not have to worry about getting in their car and driving anywhere. We come right to them and give them the proper service. One less thing they have to worry about in their recovery.
Q: Describe a moment from your job that touched your heart?
A: I’ve had patients or family members just say how grateful they were for Mount Evans. I’ve had someone say to me “thank you for taking care of us so quickly.” Getting those thanks and knowing Mount Evans made a difference…it’s all of us here that make those moments.
Q: Not all health care organizations are equal, what do you think makes Mount Evans special?A: Everyone comes together and helps each other when needed. If there is an urgent situation everyone takes it on, and we all get it done together. It’s not one person who made a difference. It’s everyone at Mount Evans making that difference.
