Position Open – Accounting Manager
(Full Time)
We’re looking for a full-time Accounting Manager to be a vital member of our finance and patient care team in Evergreen, Colorado (located in the foothills only 20 miles from downtown Denver).
About the position
This position will:
- Manage and oversee the staff and the general accounting tasks of the department.
- Oversee the insurance authorization process for patients and maintain a working knowledge of government billing regulations including Medicare and Medicaid; serve as a resource for appropriate organization personnel.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Collaborates with Senior Director of Accounting and Finance and department leaders to develop annual budget.
- Utilizes accounting principles that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department to include, bookkeeper processing the bi-weekly payroll, accurate AP processing and verification and reconciliation of invoices.
- Practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of payer contracts and billing processes according to contract provisions.
- Gathers, collates, and reports financial information to the Senior Director of Accounting and Finance.
- Maintains a comprehensive accounting knowledge of the financial information systems including upgrades and enhancements.
- Reconciles cash receipts and bank deposits according to policy.
- Prepares the financial component for the annual report on the Agency’s activity.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with patients, family members, payers, and referral sources.
- Protects the confidentiality of patient and organization information through effective controls and direct supervision of department operations.
- Recruits, selects, orients, and manages members of the department staff. To be a resource and back-up for department staff.
- Have an occasional on-call requirement.
- Be based out of our offices in Evergreen.
- Have a salary range of $66,000 – $75,000.
About you
You must (required):
- Have an Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Be able to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of the Mount Evans mission and values.
- Demonstrate ability to supervise and direct personnel.
- Have knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Demonstrate good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
- Demonstrate capability to accurately manage detailed information.
- Ability to deal tactfully with patients, family members, referral sources and payers.
- Demonstrate autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software, and accounting and financial software.
- Have proof of legal right to work in the United States.
Ideally, you will (preferred):
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
