This award-winning bereavement camp is a way for children ages 6 to 12 to explore their feelings of grief and share memories of their loved ones. More than 1,700 children have attended Camp Comfort since its establishment in 1995.

Camp Comfort will host two weekend long camps in the mountains and one day camp for three days in metro Denver this summer.

Weekend Camp
During this extraordinary weekend led by trained counselors and bereavement professionals, children learn ways to cope with their grief through workshops. A volunteer “buddy” system (with no more than three children to one adult) ensures that children receive plenty of personal, one-on-one attention. And, while children are encouraged to share memories and express their grief, Camp Comfort offers fun, too. The daily itinerary includes plenty of opportunities for recreation including swimming, ziplining, arts and crafts, fishing, and hiking.

Day Camp
At our three-day camp, Campers learn ways to cope with their grief while building meaningful relationships and experiencing lots of summer fun! Campers engage in grief workshops and therapeutic activities as well as participate in fun recreational and artistic activities. Camp concludes with a reflective closing ceremony that families are invited to attend.
