Foothills Conversations is a volunteer-led program that encourages and facilitates people to share their wishes for care through the end of life, by having conversations with loved ones and doctors to expand on their advance care directives.

Why THE CONVERSATION is Important

There is a disconnect between what people want for the end of their lives and what actually happens. THE CONVERSATION can help you live your very best life until the end.

  • 70% of people say they want to die at home, but 70% die in healthcare facilities.
  • 92% of Americans say it’s important to discuss their wishes for end-of-life care, but only 32% have had such conversations.

In the absence of conversations about what matters most to you, loved ones are left guessing, with feelings of uncertainty and, often, guilt.

Having end-of-life conversations is never easy, but families and healthcare professionals report feelings of relief when the subject is addressed.
