Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice Celebrates 40 Years of Caring as a Top Company
ColoradoBiz Magazine named Mount Evans the Top Health Care Company in the state. This is an amazing honor and incredibly rare achievement for any organization. We’ve been fortunate to be named a finalist for the last two years. It somehow seems appropriate that in the year we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary, and more importantly 40 years of caring for the mountain community, that we would be named the winner. When they looked at Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice for the last three years, they saw a community-based nonprofit that offered highly skilled and nationally recognized hospice, home health, palliative care and emotional support.
A Mother's Love Runs Strong - Gil Schaenzle's story of love, heartbreak and inspiration
In 2016, Gil Schaenzle’s only child - daughter Anna Rose - was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer. After surgery to remove nearly 10 pounds of tumors from her body, and intense rounds of chemotherapy, Anna Rose died in 2017 at age 21. Gil shares her incredibly personal story; how Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice helped her cope with the heartbreak; and her inspiring journey through 52 national parks, 19 national monuments and two national preserves in an effort to help other families facing neuroendocrine cancer.

Camp Comfort
Camp Comfort is a weekend camp offered twice each summer by Mt. Evans Home Health & Hospice to address the special needs of grieving children ages 6 to 12. Camp Comfort offers children a supportive environment where they can gain an understanding of grief and loss. Children learn ways to cope with their grief through workshops and activities, building skills that will help them now and throughout their lives. More than 1,200 children have attended Camp Comfort since its inception in 1995. Grief workshops are balanced with recreational activities like swimming, hiking, and fishing so children feel free to have fun and just be kids. All activities are supervised by trained social workers, staff, and volunteers.
The Nature of Grace
Roger Ambrosier's son, Aaron, was under the care of Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice with an incurable brain tumor. In his speech at the 2018 Benefit Gala, he shares about his son's. his own, and his family's experience with Mount Evans.
